Adèle Haenel Film Festival: The Short Films
Now that we have looked at almost all of Adèle's feature length films (I'll fill in the missing feature films when I can access them—I am working on tracking down the missing films) we will move to stage two of the Adèle Haenel Film Festival—the Adèle Haenel Short Film Festival. We will be viewing her short films and short form works. Adéle has made quite a few short films, many of them early in her career. Short films give young filmmakers and young actors and crew an opportunity to gain experience and establish them in the filmmaking scene. It is also a legitimate art form at any stage of a career. There is also a number of promotional films that Adéle has taken part in and I will include these in the short film festival as well, even though they are not 'short films' in the strict sense. I am not including interviews, red carpet events, photoshoots at Cannes, and the like, but rather short films and crafted short form works.Unlike feature films, it is surprisingly challenging to get a definitive list of Adèle's short films and short form work. I am building the list and I think that it is pretty comprehensive, but I suspect that more will come to light over time as short films sometimes have a very limited release, so we may not be viewing them in strict chronological order if older ones appear. If you know of one that I have missed please let me know so I can add it to our viewing list. Not all are listed in her filmography, and new (to me) ones emerge occasionally. I have found almost all of them online and with English subtitles, and will link to them. Some I have found, but not with English subtitles, so we will just need to cope with that sometimes. I suspect we have all got used to that experience in recent times. : )
