Notes

Being selected as one of Europe’s top ten young actors by the European Film Promotion network is another amazing achievement in Adèle’s early career. The Shooting Stars are presented at the Berlinale Film Festival, held in February each year. This is an event to celebrate young and talented actresses and actors from across Europe and to raise their profile and expose them to the European film industry and media. At the event the Shooting Stars have a breakfast with casting directors, lots of press interviews, and events that will raise their profile. Lots of media events are organised and press interest is generated through the events at the Berlinale Film Festival.

The jury statement about Adèle:

“Coming from a country renowned for producing great screen actresses, Haenel still stands out as a true original. Whether playing tomboyish, spiky, fragile or misunderstood, she is always daring and hypnotic, vanishing into her characters with unabashed fearlessness.

The selection process for European Shooting Stars

" Each of the 37 EFP member countries can nominate a candidate. The final selection is made by an international jury of industry professionals, which decides on the ten most promising and internationally versatile young actors and actresses.

The selection is based on the following criteria:
  • a successful professional career in the native country, including first awards
  • a leading role in a film which was released in the past 24 months prior to the nomination
  • aged between 16 to 32 years
  • fluent English"
