Paying homage to Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1964 unfinished "L’Enfer" (Inferno) starring Romy Schneider and Serge Reggiani. Lyrics (French & German)

Le long du fleuve mon âme sœur

Le long du fleuve mon âme sœur

Lyrics (English translation)

The sky is black my friend
But I see it clear and the rain

The rain washes us from all sins

Life is flame my love
And the wind blows every day

The wind blows to remind us that we love each other

The nights are long my lover
Like a haunting drunkenness

These nights are a few moments of eternity

Along the river my soul mate
From the top of the peaks to the depths

The wind blows to remind us that we love each other

From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul

The sky is black my friend
But I see it clear and the rain

The rain washes us from all sins

Life is flame my love
And the wind blows every day

The wind blows to remind us that we love each other

The nights are long my lover
Like a haunting drunkenness

These nights are a few moments of eternity

Along the river my soul mate
From the top of the peaks to the depths

The wind blows to remind us that we love each other

From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul
From my soul to your soul

  3. Thank you for taking the time to comment—I appreciate it. I have learned so much in preparing these notes. This one was really fun to investigate, though they all have been... These smaller films are a rich source of learning about Adèle's career and professional choices. Her theatre performances are also very interesting and give us a glimpse how she keep challenging and extending herself.
